The moonlight,
I’ve never seen this so bold,
DANCES on the lake!
FROTH AND TOSS, ‘tween lighthouse and beacon,
out beyond the stone jetty.
At first I thought it was a seagull feeding frenzy.
loud, raucous cries also stole the calm of early night.
I’ve heard that term, dancing in the moonlight,
perhaps with humans as its focus,
but This! This is a funky deep Diving rout of a DANCE!
My first night in, dark chocolate ice cream, a walk to familiar town spots Early to bed, a good, but travel weary day.
I’ve been hearing a common refrain from artist’s this season, perhaps you can relate.
We are all speaking some version of “when we were doing Covid, things got simpler, I could pay attention.
It felt good to simply live the day, uncomplicated. I miss that, but now how should I feel?”
Well, grateful. and glad. and challenged. maybe unsure, seeking a new balance.
so I want to share with you a super week. Back into my world and it felt like a comfortable walk on the balance beam, a re-finding of rhythm, of connection, of my weaving centerpoint. Renewing hello’s with helpful and enthusiastic staff, meeting new interns with energy and generous smiles, discovering the talents and remarkable stories of students from far and near, finding time to row a boat, play cribbage, hike to waterfalls, enjoy slow coffee in the morning and thoughtful writing at night.
